Mirror Android to a Samsung TV

Samsung TVs accept screen mirroring from Android phones. Galaxy phones call it Smart View; other brands call it Screen Cast or Wireless display.

This guide uses the mirroring built into your phone. Phone browsers cannot share the screen, so MHL Mirroring is not needed here.

Step by step

  1. Open Quick Settings

Swipe down twice from the top of the phone screen.

  2. Tap Smart View

On Galaxy phones tap Smart View; on others look for Screen Cast or Wireless display.

  3. Choose the TV

Pick your Samsung TV from the list.

  4. Allow on the TV

Accept the request on the TV with the remote. The phone screen appears.

If it does not work

  • TV not found: on the TV press Source and choose Screen Mirroring, then try again.
  • No Smart View on your phone: Pixel phones dropped Miracast; mirror from a computer with MHL Mirroring instead.

Mirror straight from your browser

Try MHL Mirroring on your own screens

Open the receiver on the TV, the sender on your computer, and connect with a 6-digit code. Free, peer-to-peer, nothing to install.
